HEALTHCARE
A new disruptive technology in the world of hospital disinfection
Overcoming the problem of microbial contamination and infectious disease can be straightforward. It requires proper products, equipment, protocols, education and training for comprehensive and reliable cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting solutions. We are PCT Corp.
The Annihilyzer® Infection Control System is a complete cleaning, sanitizing/disinfecting solution. Our on-site generators make Green Seal™ Certified disinfectant/sanitizer & cleaner at your facility.
- Electrochemically Activated Solution – OSG 460 D disinfectant is effective with efficacy up to 99.9999% of listed label pathogens and contributing HAI’s including C. diff (Clostridium Difficile).
- Our Electrochemically Activated Solution OSG 11-12 All Purpose Cleaning and Degreaser works as good as any cleanser on the market with zero residue.
On-site generation allows continuous production of non-harmful, Green Seal™ Certified fluid, and reduces costs associated with ordering and storage of harmful chemicals.
NEW SOLUTIONS FOR INFECTION CONTROL IN HEALTHCARE
Infection prevention and control in healthcare is one of the biggest topics of discussion in the industry. Unfortunately, even as doctors and their supporting staff work hard to treat patients, cure diseases, and help them overcome severe threats to their health, there are often pathogens lurking in the very rooms where those processes are taking place. Standard disinfecting practices that rely on antibiotics to prevent infection are not effective against antibiotic resistant mutations, and chemical disinfecting products come with their own risks to the health of humans.
The hospital grade disinfectant produced by PCT is a game-changing approach to infection control in healthcare. Rather than using highly toxic, partially effective solutions, PCT’s offerings rely on anolyte solutions produced through the water electrolysis process. With hypochlorous acid as the key active component of these solutions, they come with extremely low toxicity, making them a more suitable application for busy hospital settings.
PCT’s anolyte solution can be purchased in bulk, shipped to medical facilities from the company’s headquarters in South Carolina. Alternately, facilities can invest in PCT’s latest generation of AnnihilyzerⓇ technology for on-site generation of hospital disinfectant.
ON-SITE GENERATION AND APPLICATION
Producing and applying disinfectant within a hospital is easy with PCT’s equipment. The AnnihilyzerⓇ is a compact piece of equipment that performs the water electrolysis process in a self-contained chamber, producing two different products: the anolyte solution as a hospital grade disinfectant, and a catholyte solution that can be used as an all-purpose cleaner and degreaser.
While there are many benefits to generating disinfectant on site, more and more facilities are recognizing the financial advantages associated with eliminating packaging for disinfectant solution. Waste reduction mandates are coming into play in more states all the time, and the cleaning and disinfecting process is one of the largest sources of waste products that must be disposed of. Producing those resources on site means that there are no plastic bottles, wood pallets, or other items that must be disposed of following their use.
The spray cart provided by PCT is the most convenient, time-efficient method for applying hospital grade disinfectant to operating, patient, and exam rooms. This spray system ensures that there is complete coverage of a room’s hard, nonporous surfaces. Manual spraying and wiping by janitorial staff is incapable of achieving the same amount of coverage, and requires far more in terms of employee resources.
MORE INFO
Billions of dollars a year are spent by individuals, organizations and the healthcare system to treat people who get infectious diseases caused by microbes including bacteria, viruses and fungi. With the advent of adaptive and ever more dangerous microorganisms called “super bugs”, the danger of acquiring life-threatening infections is real and growing. This danger affects everyone anytime they are in a space where people gather, and any microbe contaminating that space is a possible source of infection. With American’s spending 20 or more hours a day indoors, much of it in spaces that are not cleaned and sanitized/disinfected properly, the threat of infection is constant, growing and dangerous, particularly to our vulnerable populations of the very young, elderly and infirm.
Hospital-acquired infection (HAI) — also known as a nosocomial infection — is an infection that is contracted from the environment or staff of a healthcare facility. It can be spread in the hospital environment, nursing home environment, rehabilitation facility, clinic or other clinical settings. In the United States, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimated roughly 1.7 million hospital-associated infections from all types of microorganisms, including bacteria and fungi combined, cause or contribute to 99,000 deaths each year.
